Some products require Chic Layered Studio to purchase the device and invest substantial time in design, prototyping, and testing. A Funding Batch allows interested founding customers to preorder a proposed product. Development begins only after the minimum order threshold is reached.
1. Product Idea
Customers request a useful product or mount.
2. Interest List
Interested customers join a waitlist so demand can be measured.
3. Funding Batch Opens
A founding price, expected regular price, and minimum order target are announced.
4. Development Begins
The product is designed, printed, tested, and refined after the threshold is reached.
5. Founding Orders Ship
Founding customers receive the first production batch after development and production.

How Funding Batches Work
Each Funding Batch includes a minimum order threshold, founding price, expected regular price, estimated development period, estimated shipping period, progress updates, refund or cancellation terms, and known risks or limitations.
Refunds and cancellations
If a Funding Batch does not reach its minimum order threshold, founding customer preorders are cancelled or refunded according to the posted batch terms. If development begins but the product cannot be completed as described, Chic Layered Studio will communicate the issue and available options.
Risks and limitations
New product development may require fit testing, prototype changes, device availability, and material adjustments. Funding Batches are product-launch support from founding customers, not investments and not ownership interests.
